wheat may not be all that you think it is.

wheat may not be all that you think it is.

We love bread. We eat so much of it at our favorite restaurants, that we have to take our meal home to eat later. For many of us, between pizza, pasta, bread, crackers, cereals, sandwiches, wraps cakes and pancakes, and almost anything that is processed our food patterns are pretty much covered.  There is also a high possibility that you may be “sleeping with the enemy” Is it possible that wheat and other grains are negatively and silently, affecting your HEALTH AND WELLNESS?

Oh!!   I used to love wheat just as much, or even more than the next person. My favorite things in the world were delicate pastries like croissants, and Danish. One of the things on my “bucket list was to go to Paris and enjoy real authentic French pastries at a sidewalk café.

That was until I discovered that the agonies which I had been enduring for several years, and no one could figure out, was because I had developed an intolerance to wheat, which manifested itself in various ways. Celiac disease is still one of them. That in itself has so many complications, that it is understandable why no one would want to find out that wheat is not their friend. But bear in mind that the longer it wrecks havoc on your body, the harder the road back. Oh How I wish that I was more informed years ago and be more pr-active in taking more control over my health and wellness.

It is widely believed in nutritional and medical circles, that modern day wheat can have several adverse and crippling effects on your body.

Some of the serious complications associated with wheat consumption are neurological impairment, Dementia, Heart disease, Arthritis, Cataracts, and Diabetes.

The school of thought as to why modern wheat is so harmful is that it bears only slight resemblance to ancient grain. Wheat has been transformed into a hybrid of the genetic configuration of pre-historic wheat, for higher yield.

The seeds and embryos are modified by chemicals, high powered X-rays and gamma rays, so what-ever grows from those seeds are not only very much depleted in nutritional content, but may be harmful.

From the hybridized, modified strain of wheat, as much as 40% is extracted during processing, and it loses over half of the vitamin B1, B2, B3, E, folic acid, calcium, phosphorus, zinc, copper, iron, and fiber.

Whether you are effected by wheat or not, other substances are building up toxins in your body.

Dr. Marcia Alvarez, who specializes in nutritional programs for obese patients says that when it comes to nutrition, wheat may be considered as an evil grain. “Modern wheat grains could certainly be considered as the root of all evil in the world of nutrition, since they cause so many documented health problems across so many populations in the world.”

Dr. Alvarez asserted that wheat is now responsible for more intolerances than almost any other food in the world. “In my practice of over two decades, we have documented that for every ten people with digestive problems, obesity, irritable bowel syndrome, diabetes, arthritis and even heart-disease, eight out of ten have a problem with wheat. Once we remove wheat from their diets, most of their symptoms disappear within three to six months,”

This subject of wheat, the quality of wheat, Wheat Germ ,  Agglutinin (WGA), gliadin, and amylopectin A, is very broad and complex. Also broad and complex are the wide range of health conditions which can occur from intolerance to wheat. This is why it is estimated that, as more and more people begin to realize that wheat is not their friend, as many as 80% of the world’s population will give up on wheat consumption.
