Since this month is being recognized as celiac disease awareness month, I thought I would highlight and hopefully, heighten the awareness of CELIAC DISEASE.

Because there is lots of information out there on gluten intolerance, gluten sensitivity and CELIAC DISEASE, it is not my intention here to regurgitate a bunch of facts and figures for you. Instead I will attempt to relate my personal journey to being aware of CELIAC DISEASE, and the horror that it is to the human body.

The first thing that we need to be aware of is that Gluten intolerance is not the same thing as celiac disease. Gluten Intolerance simply means that your body cannot tolerate GLUTEN, and it reacts in countless negative ways. Gluten is the protein found in grains and is the gluey sticky substance that gives wheat its pliability. One of the ways the body reacts is to cause disturbances in the intestinal system, causing a ripple effect of symptoms, disorders and results. Celiac disease is therefore an autoimmune digestive disorder usually caused by ingesting GLUTEN. Read the rest of this entry

Many grain contain GLUTEN..and triggers GLUTEN INTOLERANCES.

I never attempted to write a blog on  GLUTEN INTOLERANCE  before, mainly because I was struggling to understand it myself.

I was struggling to understand my symptoms and what to do about healing my body, since all I heard from my various tests was that there is nothing wrong.  So as such, I was the only one that knew that I had a problem, but had no idea what it was. .

Because there is so much that many people are not aware of and which may be useful, I will not try to cram it into one post.

This article will deal with GLUTEN SENSITIVITY, GLUTEN INTOLERANCE (allergy) and their relation to CELIAC DISEASE.

I realize that in order to do a meaningful job of this, I have to infuse it with my personal experiences. That is quite OK.  If this helps anyone to zero in on their symptoms and cause people to be on the look-out for symptoms it would be worth it.

It is estimated that only a small percent of the occurrence of gluten intolerance are diagnosed as such. In many instances it is discovered while investigating other diseases. One school of thought is that as many as 15% of persons are gluten sensitive. Read the rest of this entry

I feel compelled to spill the beans.

I had no intentions of writing a blog post today. But in the past hour or so I started having this really strong urge to do this. I know that there are no accidents, and so I believe that what I am about to highlight will touch someone in some way.

Sometime today, a youngster read an article I had written about refined sugar and nonchalantly said that, he must have his sugar because it is addicting. While this blog is not about refined sugar, I have to ask:  Is there anything that is addicting that is good for you? My thoughts are that even if it is something good initially, too much of a good thing can be bad. And too far east is west.  Ponder on that and give me your thoughts. “Bad for Your Health” habits can be Broken. Read the rest of this entry
