New worlds to conquer

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much” ― Helen Keller

Teamwork is good for MLM

Teamwork is good for MLM

Have you ever moved into a new neighborhood, and was feeling a bit apprehensive about being in a strange place? Perhaps you were not feeling too optimistic about getting to learn the ins and outs of what is going on, in that particular corner of the world? Then some-one shows up with a cake (maybe not…that may be a movie ideal). Maybe you just encounter someone, or they come over to say hello, and after the first conversation, your level of comfort rises. Just by making a connection, and knowing that there is someone you can go to with your question, or maybe just someone to introduce you to the rest of the neighbors, made you feel like you can settle in.

Or have you ever started a new job, and had a few butterflies in your stomach, while waiting to hear what is expected of you. You look around to see how others are acting, and what they do and do not do, and of course you keep your ears open, in an effort to acclimatize yourself with your new surroundings. Then someone,(or maybe several people) stop by to say hello and welcome you to the office. Maybe someone was gracious enough to whisper a few sentences of vital information that Perhaps someone invites you to sit at their table in the lunchroom, or invites you to join them at their favorite deli or restaurant for lunch. STOOD THE TEST OF TIME

Pomegranates are believed to have originated in the region from Iran to the Himalayas in northern India. The fruit has been cultivated since ancient times, throughout the Mediterranean region of Asia, Africa and Europe.

Pomegranates...Fruit of life.

Pomegranates…Fruit of life.

The word pomegranate is derived from middle French, and is means “seeded apple” (pomme  garnete). It has stood the test of time, because of it’s life giving properties. CLICK HERE for additional anti-oxidant support.

The potent fruit is featured in Egyptian mythology and art, and is referenced in the Bible’s old- testament. Its reverence is associated with life and fertility, prosperity, abundance and hope.

It is believed that King Tut and other ancient Egyptians were buried with pomegranates in hopes of a second life.

If you are a Bible scholar, you may recall that when Moses sent his spies to survey “the promised Land” a bounty of pomegranates was all the proof they needed.

Homer’s Odyssey and Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet also mentioned the pomegranate.

The fruit has been such an important part of the culture of ancient and middle age civilizations,  that it has been  been incorporated into  wedding ceremonies in countries such as China, Persia and Turkey.

There are probably about twelve known varieties of pomegranates but the tree itself is unique. The only other plant that is closely related is a small tree found only in a small island in Yemen.

Ancient cultures used the pomegranate in a variety of ways. For example, the pomegranate blossom was crushed to make a red dye and the peel was used for dyeing leather.

Because the pomegranate has been around from early civilizations, it has become a part of the culture of many Mediterranean and south European nations. Read the rest of this entry

WHAT’S IN YOUR FOOD …THE GOOD STUFF   (COCONUT MILK)

MATURE COCONUT

MATURE COCONUT

Do you recall that delicious flavor from the cocktail at the beach during your last tropical vacation?

Chances are, if it is memorable, it came from the coconut in your Pina-Colada. Virgin or alcoholic, the aroma and taste of coconut is always pleasant.

Coconut milk is derived from the meat of a mature coconut.

The coconut palm is native to Malaysia, Polynesia, and Southern Asia. This palm has the distinct advantage in that every part of the tree can be used. Either nutritionally, commercially, or industrially. In some counties in the Indian ocean, the coconut was once considered so valuable that it was used as a form of currency. The fruit of the tree yields coconut meat, coconut milk, coconut sugar, and coconut oil.

Coconut milk is considered a much healthier alternative to dairy milk. Because it is a natural product, it is easier for the body to assimilate and make use of the nutritional components. To get some of the same benefits as in coconut oil, go here.

The coconut palm is grown in tropical and sub-tropical regions, and the fruit grows in clusters towards the top of the palm with its branches reaching towards the sun. A tall coconut tree takes 8 to 10 years to mature, and a dwarf palm can bear fruit in about 5 years. My earliest recollection of the coconut palm, was the ingenious ways that people devised to reach the top of the trees to retrieve the fruit. These palms can grow up to 95 feet tall.
